EVERGREEN BOYS AND GIRLS STATE
Boys and Girls State is a premier week-long program sponsored by the American Legion. The focus of the program is to teach how our government works by hands on experience. They learn how cities, counties, and our state government functions. They are divided into mock (imitation) political parties. Instructors give them tasks of working together to pass bills and solve problems, They also learn about what state agencies do, funding and budgeting, and much more.
The program is only open to high school students who have completed their junior year and will begin their senior year in the
fall.
